• Full time position functions under the direct supervision of a surgeon as surgical first assistant during the operative procedures.
• The Surgical Assistant works under the direction of a surgeon as well as hand to hand with OR staff to facilitate the safe and most effective surgical procedures.
• Surgical Assistant must have strong time management skills
• Surgical Assistant must have strong communication skills.

Job Summary

Position is responsible for providing First Assisting services in the operating room. Position functions as a Surgical First Assistant under the direct supervision of the sponsoring Surgeon. 

Job Description : 

Minimum Qualifications 

Education: Graduate of a Surgical Assistant Program, A minimum of an Associates Degree from a 2 or 4 year college. 

Licenses/Certifications: Certified in Basic Life Support; and Current Certification as a Surgical Assistant , Surgical Assistant License from the State of Texas

Experience / Knowledge / Skills: First assisting in General Surgery, OBGYN, ORTHO, NEURO, UROLOGY, Plastic Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Colon and rectal surgery, Robotic Surgery
